Registered caller ID shows your business name when you call. Before carriers allow that, they need to know your business. You tell us once, in a short form that takes about 3 minutes. Registered caller ID is a calling add-on: $50 setup + $50/mo per line + $0.075 per call. To learn what it does and how to buy it, see Calling & Add-ons.
You fill in the form once for your whole workspace. Every line with Registered caller ID uses the same details.

Where to find the form

The form is called “Caller ID details: needed to turn on Registered caller ID”. You’ll see it in three places:
  • The line order page right after checkout, if you picked Registered caller ID at checkout.
  • Lines → Provision Line, in the Calling step, when you tick Registered caller ID or already paid for it at checkout.
  • Lines → Calling, on any line that has Registered caller ID, including after it’s live.
Your line is ordered either way. You don’t have to finish the form to order a line. You can fill it in later from Lines → Calling.

What the form asks for

Some details may already be filled in from your line order. Check them before you submit.

What people see when you call

  • Name shown on calls. Your company or brand, not a person’s name. Up to 35 characters. No emoji.
  • Reason for calling. Pick one from the list, such as Sales Call, Follow-Up Calls or Appointment Reminder. It shows under your name on some phones. You can add up to two more reasons (optional).
  • Logo (optional). Shows on supported phones. Use a square image.

Your business

  • Company legal name
  • Name customers know you by (DBA)
  • Website
  • Federal tax ID (EIN). 9 digits, like 12-3456789.
  • Type of company. Corporation, LLC, Partnership, Nonprofit or Other.
  • State where it’s registered
  • Industry. Pick the closest one, such as Finance, lending or debt relief.
  • Number of employees. Pick a range.

Business address

Street address, suite (optional), city, state and ZIP. If your billing address is different, untick Billing address is the same and enter it.

Main contact

First name, last name, job title, email and phone. The phone must be a US or Canada number. Type it any way you like, such as (305) 555-0100. This person signs one short letter that lets us register your caller ID numbers. Pick someone who can sign for the business, such as the owner. If someone else handles billing, untick Same person handles billing and add their name, email and phone.

Area code (optional)

Calls with Registered caller ID come from a separate number we register for you. Enter the area code you’d like for it, or leave it empty to match each line.

The confirmation

Tick the box to confirm that the name and logo accurately represent your business, that you own or are allowed to use them, and that your calls contain no sex, hate, alcohol, firearms or tobacco content.

Save for later, or Submit

At the bottom of the form there are two buttons.
  • Save for later keeps what you’ve typed, even if the form isn’t finished. You’ll see “Saved. You can finish this any time from Lines → Calling.” Nothing is sent for registration yet.
  • Submit caller ID details sends your details to us. Every field must be filled in, except the ones marked optional. If something is missing, the form tells you exactly what, for example: “Please fill in: Website, Federal tax ID (EIN).”
Even Save for later won’t keep a value that is clearly wrong. For example, a name longer than 35 characters or with emoji, an EIN that isn’t 9 digits, an area code that isn’t 3 digits, or an email or website that doesn’t look right. The form tells you which one to check. When you submit, you’ll see “Thanks! We have everything we need to register your caller ID.” The box turns green and shows the name you chose.

Changing your details after you submit

Click Edit on the green box, change what you need, and click Save changes. We update it with the carriers. Click Cancel to keep your details as they were. You can do this any time, including after your caller ID is live. Your details stay on Lines → Calling.

What happens next

  • We register your business with the carriers. This usually takes a few business days.
  • Your main contact signs one short letter that lets us register your caller ID numbers.
  • We email you when it’s live. On Lines → Calling, the add-on then shows Active and the number your calls go out from.
Once it’s live, your business name shows on US-to-US calls to mobiles on T-Mobile and Verizon. Your texts still come from your line’s own number. Each Registered caller ID call costs $0.075, added to your next invoice.
