# Calling & Add-ons

> What calling every phone line includes, the FaceTime Audio and Registered caller ID add-ons, and how add-ons paid at checkout reach each new line.

**Every phone line can make and receive calls. Two optional add-ons stop the "Potential spam" label some people see when you call. If you pick an add-on at checkout, it's already paid for: each phone line you order after that gets it automatically, with no new charge.**

## What every phone line includes

* **500 outgoing minutes per line per month**, with call recording. Minutes are shared across your phone lines.
* **Unlimited incoming calls**, free, forwarded to the number you choose. That number must be in the same country as the line's eSIM.
* **Extra minutes:** 100 for \$3.

A regular call can show **"Potential spam"** until the person saves your number or taps "Mark as known". Text them first, then call. To learn why, see [Limits: Calling](https://docs.tuco.ai/limits.md#calling).

## The two add-ons

Add-ons are chosen **per line**.

| Add-on | Price | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **FaceTime Audio** | \$100/mo per line | Calls go over FaceTime Audio from the same Apple identity that texts the lead, so there's no carrier "Potential spam" label. It costs more because it needs different hardware on our side than iMessage does. |
| **Registered caller ID** | $50 setup + $50/mo per line + \$0.075 per call | We give the line a separate calling number and register it with carriers, so your calls show your business name. Calls come from that number, not your texting number. No FaceTime Audio needed. |

Registered caller ID shows your name on US-to-US calls to mobiles on T-Mobile and Verizon. Carriers check your business first, so it can take a few business days to go live. You give us your business details in a short form. See [Registered caller ID setup](https://docs.tuco.ai/features/registered-caller-id.md).

## Add-ons you pick at checkout

When you tick an add-on at checkout, you buy it for **every phone line in your plan**. It's charged with your plan.

After that, **each phone line you order gets one automatically**. You don't tick anything again, and you aren't charged again.

### On the line order page after checkout

Right after you pay, you order your lines. If you picked add-ons at checkout, each line shows a green box:

> **Included with this line, already paid at checkout**
> FaceTime Audio add-on: added to this line automatically. No new charge.

If you picked Registered caller ID, this page also shows the **Caller ID details** form. You can fill it in now or later. Your line is ordered either way.

### When you add a line with Provision Line

On **Lines → Provision Line**, the **Calling** step shows each add-on you already paid for as ticked and locked, with a **Paid at checkout** badge and a note like this:

> You already paid for FaceTime Audio at checkout (1 unused). It's added to this line automatically. No new charge.

* The **"Charge me for…"** box only lists add-ons that will really be charged. If everything you picked was paid at checkout, there's no charge box at all.
* On the review screen, a paid add-on shows **"(already paid at checkout, no new charge)"**.
* If you tick an add-on you didn't pay for at checkout, it's charged like any other add-on. See the next section.

### Adding an add-on to a line you already have

1. Go to **Lines** and click **Calling** on the line.
2. Tick the add-on you want.
3. Tick the box to agree, then click **Add**.

What the box says depends on whether you already paid:

* **Already paid at checkout.** The card shows **Paid at checkout** and *"You already paid for this at checkout (1 unused). Adding it to this line costs nothing today."* The box reads: *"Add … to this line using a slot I already paid for at checkout. **No new charge.** It renews with my plan."*
* **Not paid yet.** The box reads *"Charge me for … on this line"*. We charge the card on file today: the setup fee plus a prorated share of the monthly price. Then it's charged monthly. Non-refundable.

Tuco always uses an add-on you already paid for before it charges for a new one.

## What the status on Lines → Calling means

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Paid at checkout** | You already paid for this add-on and it isn't on a line yet. Adding it here costs nothing. |
| **Awaiting payment** | Your bank wants you to confirm the payment. Click **Pay the invoice to start it →**. The link stops working after about 23 hours. |
| **Setting up** | Paid. We're setting it up. |
| **Active** | It's on. For Registered caller ID, the screen shows the number your calls go out from. |

## Frequently asked questions

> [accordion] I paid for an add-on at checkout. Will I be charged again when I order a line?
>
> No. Each phone line you order takes one of the add-ons you already paid for, with no new charge. You'll see "Paid at checkout" or "already paid at checkout, no new charge" while you order.

> [accordion] How many lines get an add-on I picked at checkout?
>
> One for every phone line in your plan. If you order more phone lines than that, adding the add-on to the extra line is a new charge, and you'll see the price and a "Charge me for…" box first.

> [accordion] Do I need FaceTime Audio to use Registered caller ID?
>
> No. They are separate add-ons. Registered caller ID gives the line its own registered calling number.

> [accordion] Can I remove an add-on?
>
> Not from the dashboard. Email [support@tuco.ai](mailto:support@tuco.ai) to change one.

> [accordion] How is the \$0.075 per call for Registered caller ID billed?
>
> Each Registered caller ID call is added to your next invoice.
